Peace
Peace
- Being quiet on the inside
- Having good feelings inside
- Getting along and not arguing
- Begins within each one of us
‘Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.’
Luke 2 : 14
Peace is freedom from conflict, both inside ourselves and in the wider world. Discuss your own ideas of peace, and the children’s. What is peace of mind? Discuss this and encourage children to talk about their worries. How can they resolve them? If any worries have arisen because of actions or words causing unhappiness to others, try to set it right. This goes for parents as well as children. Take the idea of peace within the school/the family further out, into the community.
Each individual can be tolerant and forgiving towards others. Always try to resolve conflict peacefully and be prepared to negotiate – it doesn’t matter if you lose face.
