Our Values Education is an integral part of daily life here at Loughborough C.E. Primary School. We have six core Christian values which are embedded in all we do and help to make our school a distinctive church school. Our values are:
FORGIVENESS, RESPECT, PERSEVERANCE, PEACE, COMPASSION, JUSTICE.
If you want to know more keep coming back to find out about our Values Curriculum, which is changed every half term.
Our value for this half term is: Forgiveness
- Offering a new beginning and starting again
- Restoring a friendship
- Not holding a grudge
- Saying sorry
- Encouraging honesty
‘Just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you must also forgive others.’ Colossians 3:13
If a person is forgiven for something that they have done wrong, they usually want to show that they mean to behave differently in the future. Sometimes we call this ‘turning over a new leaf’.
If we hold onto our hurt feelings they can damage our friendships. We call this bearing a grudge.
In a mysterious and amazing way, when Jesus died on the cross He was taking all the wrong in the world upon His shoulders. He paid the price so that we don’t have to answer to God for the bad things we have done. We are forgiven.
