Lunchtime and After School Sports Clubs

The school is lucky to have a Sports coach who runs a club every lunchtime and every evening after school except Fridays. These clubs change round every half term, so every child has the opportunity to become involved.

The lunchtime club during the school year is “Try a new sport”.  Each week there will be a different sport on and children know, as there is a board in the hall to identify which sport is on this week and which sport will be the following week.

These sports are aimed at children who have not played the sport before and who would like to give it a go. The sport is on all week so that more children come along to have a go.

We have currently had a variety of;

  • Australian Handball
  • Ball Hockey
  • Baseball
  • Boules
  • Cricket
  • Danish Long ball
  • Curling
  • Basketball
  • Futsal
  • Tennis
  • Handball
  • Tag rugby

There are much more sports to follow…

Afterschool Clubs

Throughout the year there are many different afterschool clubs available for children to get involved in. We have a large variety of sports clubs on over the year. Here are some of the sports we offer at afterschool clubs:

  • Basketball
  • Football
  • Cricket
  • Hockey
  • Tennis
  • Dodgeball
  • Gymnastics
  • Benchball
  • Rounders
  • Table Tennis
  • Tri-golf
  • Athletics
  • Tag-Rugby

These clubs change around every half term so that there is always lots of new sports for children to try out. Letters for afterschool clubs are given out on the last week of term detailing what clubs will be taking place during the following term.

Lots of the clubs will have the opportunity for children to be selected for a competition where they can represent our school whilst competing against other local primary schools.

Link to the LPAP sports website with information on competitions and a leaderboard for the number of first, second and third place finishes each school has achieved at LPAP competitions:
