Dear parents and carers,
Thank you so much to everyone who has welcomed me back after my delayed start to the term! Believe it or not, it is good to be back!

As you can imagine there is plenty to do and all the staff are working hard in their classrooms and around the school to ensure that all safety measures are being followed as carefully as possible. We are all adapting to this new landscape.

I hope to be able to begin sending out monthly newsletters soon, but in the meantime there are some very important letters attached which will explain some changes that we feel necessary to make and also help to clarify our position around some of the concerns you have been sharing with us. We are listening and value your feedback. Please bear with us!

We are making some changes to lunchtime for children in Years 3, 4, 5 & 6. Please read carefully. I apologise for the short notice of these changes but I hope that you can appreciate the need to put these changes in place quickly. We were also delayed by a complete outage of our internet and telephone network yesterday!

Although we have restrictions in place because of social distancing, we still value your communication with us. If your child is unwell and off school for any reason, please call the school office every day of their absence from school. This avoids us having to spend additional time chasing you to find out where your child is and if they are safe. Please do so before 9am if at all possible. If you are unsure about your child's symptoms, again we would urge you to contact us by phone or by email to share information.

Finally, can I remind everyone again of the following safety measures:
Dropping Off
  • Our rolling start (8:40 to 9am) is working well to ensure a socially distanced flow of parents through the school gate and around the school.
  • Please remember to ring or email the school office to pass on messages to staff.
Picking Up
  • Try to arrive at school no earlier than your youngest child’s pick up time to avoid causing congestion and unnecessary queues on the pavement outside the gate. Pick up times are as follows:
  • 3pm – Year 5 & Year 6
  • 3:05pm – Year 3 & Year 4
  • 3:10pm – Year 1 & Year 2
  • 3:15pm – Reception
  • Please follow the one-way system either through the playground (side) gate or around the building to the car park.
  • Only ONE ADULT per household please to drop off or collect children.
Parking
  • DO NOT pull up or park on the yellow lines around the school entrance and gate and be considerate towards our neighbours by not parking across driveways.
  • The school car park is OUT OF BOUNDS and should not be used for turning, dropping off or picking up children from school unless collecting children in an emergency.

Thank you.
