On the 24th May four year 5 pupils took part in a coding competition at Our Lady’s Convent School. For the competition the children had to create a 60 second presentation in Scratch (an on-line coding program) to teach year 5 pupils how to stay safe while playing Pokemon Go. Each school submitted 2 entries.
After watching all the presentations the children were given the opportunity to take part in an unplugged activity, which was solving a Caesar cypher puzzle, while the judges made their decision.
Two of our pupils won 1st prize for their presentation and were presented with a certificate and trophy by the Mayor of Loughborough. Our children were also given a certificate each for getting back first with the correct answers to the unplugged activity.
