12 children from Loughborough C of E Primary School supported Christian Aid on Saturday 13th May by walking through the beautiful Charnwood countryside. The children, from EYFS to Year 6, were joined by Mrs Start, Mrs Tripp and Mrs Marshall and lots of parents!
The children really enjoyed the sunny day, especially the lunch stop half way round! They all felt very proud of themselves for completing the walk even though they were all really tired at the end!
Most importantly, we have raised over £600 for Christian Aid which will help refugees around the world.
This year we are supporting 'The Bridge', a local charity, with our Harvest offerings! They have asked for donations of non-cooked food parcels, such as:
These items will really help those people who are struggling, facing a night on the streets, or who may be going back to a property with no gas or electric, or those in temporary accommodation with no money to buy food and no cooking facilities.
The Bridge will provide a flask with these food parcels so people have a source of hot water.
We have had a lot of donations this year and as always are very grateful for everyone's help and support and would like to thank them for their generosity!
All donations from the Harvest Church Service will go to Christian Aid.
On Thursday 29th September the staff held a coffee morning during their break times in aid of Macmillan.
A big thank you to all those who baked cakes and to all those that ate them. Their generous donations have raised £110 for the Macmillan charity.
